Young Performance Athletes (YPAs)
Pray for YPAs as they start the New Year. Pray for YPA families as they navigate training and competition on Sundays when there are clashes with church. Pray that God would help them to make wise decisions which seek to honour Him, and that YPAs may be able to enjoy the gift of sport whilst prioritising time spent in community with other believers.
Monday, 1st January
New Year 2024
Give thanks for God’s gift of sport that has been a means for Christians to worship God and share the good news of Jesus in 2023. Pray that 2024 would see God continuing to raise up more Christians to reach the world of sport for Christ!
Tuesday, 2nd January
Elite Tennis
Give thanks for the regular ladies’ professional tennis Bible study and for deepening relationships between players in the study. Pray for those players who have recently retired from the top-level of tennis, that they would adjust well in the coming year.
Wednesday, 3rd January
New Year Training
Pray for New Year Training, our annual student conference starting today in England and Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Pray that students would be encouraged as they come together for 3 days of Bible teaching, sport and friendship.
Thursday, 4th January
Local Networks
Pray for the 48 local networks that meet across the UK. Pray that, throughout 2024, local networks would encourage sportspeople as they connect with each other, pray together, and look to share the good news of Jesus with those they compete with.
Friday, 5th January
Safeguarding
Pray that Christians in Sport will be able to continue providing excellent care in all our work with adult sportspeople in 2024 as we implement our adult safeguarding policy, following the 2023 end of year review.
Saturday, 6th January
New Year Training
Give thanks for New Year Training, our annual student conference that ran this week at locations in England, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Pray that students who attended would feel encouraged and equipped to live and speak for Jesus in their university sports clubs in the term ahead.
